Pinealon is a synthetic tripeptide (Glu-Asp-Arg) developed by the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology in Russia. It is based on the concept of bioregulatory peptides derived from pineal gland extracts, designed to influence gene expression in neuronal tissue.
Research dosages: in vitro studies used 10-100 nM concentrations; in vivo animal studies used 50-200 ng/kg injected over 5 days, or 10 mcg/kg daily for 5 days. Clinical studies used oral administration as an adjunct to standard therapy. No standardized human dosing protocol established. Commonly available as a lyophilized powder for reconstitution.
Mechanisms of Action
3Benefits
4Cognitive enhancement and memory support
CognitiveClinical studies in elderly patients showed improved memory, enhanced performance efficacy, and correction of cerebral dysfunctions. Animal studies demonstrate maintenance of learning retention under diabetic conditions.
Neuroprotection against oxidative stress
CognitivePrevents ROS accumulation in neuronal cells in a dose-dependent manner at concentrations of 10-100 nM, protecting against oxidative damage.
Traumatic brain injury recovery support
RecoveryClinical studies on patients with TBI consequences showed reduced duration and intensity of headaches, emotional balance improvement, and enhanced cognitive performance when Pinealon was added to standard therapy.
Sleep optimization
SleepReported benefits in sleep quality, likely related to its origin from pineal gland peptide research and its influence on neuronal signaling pathways.
