GHRP-6 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-6) is a synthetic hexapeptide met-enkephalin analogue developed for its growth hormone-releasing activity. It was one of the first synthetic GH secretagogues discovered and acts as an agonist at the ghrelin receptor despite having no sequence similarity to ghrelin.
Research protocols typically use 100-300 mcg per injection, three times daily (morning, pre-workout, bedtime) via subcutaneous injection on an empty stomach. Half-life is approximately 20 minutes, necessitating multiple daily doses. Strong appetite stimulation occurs 20-30 minutes post-injection. Commonly cycled, though specific cycle length protocols vary. Not FDA-approved for human use.
Mechanisms of Action
4Benefits
6Growth hormone secretion
HormonalPotent stimulation of pulsatile GH secretion. Doses of 300 mcg/day produced greater GH increases than 100 mcg/day in clinical studies.
Appetite stimulation
MetabolicStrong appetite stimulation within 20-30 minutes post-injection via ghrelin receptor activation. This is a distinctive feature compared to other GHRPs.
Muscle development
Body CompositionEnhanced muscle development through elevated GH and IGF-1 signaling, supporting protein synthesis.
Fat metabolism
Body CompositionAccelerated fat metabolism through GH-mediated lipolysis pathways.
Wound healing
RecoveryEnhances the healing process and improves esthetic outcomes of wounds, demonstrated in research models.
Cardioprotection
LongevityPrevents myocardial fiber consumption, ventricular dilation, and extracardiac toxicity. Preserves cardiomyocyte mitochondrial integrity in doxorubicin models.
